Our Team
Charis Hurley, CPA
I love working with people and building relationships. I love collaborating with clients and finding creative solutions for problems and resourceful strategies for growth.
I have many years of experience in public accounting. I earned my BS in Accountancy from Regis University in 2012. I earned my CPA (Certified Public Accountant) license in the State of Colorado, in March of 2019. I am also a member of the Colorado Society of Certified Public Accountants.
I specialize in income tax preparation, sales tax, and payroll tax, as well as nonprofit accounting. I am passionate about nonprofits, as I have provided volunteer bookkeeping services for Northern Colorado Youth For Christ for many years and am treasurer for Joyful Journeys Community Enrichment in Broomfield, CO.
I love spending time with my husband and three children, crafting, and baking. I treasure my relationships with my family and friends, who have each supported me and my ambitious goals. I have traveled the world, but my favorite place is still Disneyland.

Heather Hurley
I have been working for Hurley Accounting since early 2021 as the Office Manager and Bookkeeper. I am a woman of varied talents and occupations. In addition to my bookkeeping experience, I am also a certified interior designer. I earned my BA in Interior Design from Washington State University, in 2011 and was certified in 2019.
Although I graduated high school in Colorado, I moved away for several years and spent time in Washington state and New Mexico. I have most recently been living in Colorado since 2020. I have worked in many industries, from finance and restaurants to construction and design.
I enjoy spending time with my niece and nephews (I am Charis’ sister-in-law) and working on freelance design projects, reading, and sewing.
Adriane Strickland
Staff Accountant and Tax Preparer
I received my master’s in accounting in May of 2020 then started my career the following August. I started my education at Front Range Community College where I received my Associates (2018) then I transferred to the University of Northern Colorado for both my bachelors (2019) and masters (2020) in accounting. I'm currently a CPA candidate working on licensure.
I'm experienced in a variety of areas - Audit, Review and Compilation, income tax preparation for Individuals, Trusts, Businesses, and Nonprofits, state tax filings like severance tax and personal property declarations, bookkeeping, sales tax, 1099's, payroll and tax research.
I enjoy assisting everyday working families. My first exposure to preparing tax returns for the public was during my first year of college where I volunteered for a VITA clinic (Volunteer Income Tax Assistance), where we helped low-income taxpayers file their income tax returns for free. Being of service to the community, in a way that genuinely helped people, is what drew me to tax and accounting.
I enjoy being with my family, playing board games, cooking, and going on new adventures.
